Leah Hodaya Levi arrived at Neve Michael just before her 13th birthday, carrying the weight of loss and uncertainty. Kfir Sabag arrived at Neve Michael at just nine years old, alongside his younger brother, following the passing of their father. Raised in a disadvantaged neighborhood, Kfir faced numerous challenges that made it difficult for him to believe in himself. But at Neve Michael, he found a second family. His mentors, Hadassah and Betzalel, became pivotal figures in his life—Betzalel, in particular, stepping in as a father figure with whom Kfir remains close to this day.

Under the dedicated care of Neve Michael’s staff, Kfir learned the values of resilience and independence. Ornit, another influential mentor, instilled in him the importance of self-sufficiency—a lesson that would shape his future. Determined to make the most of the opportunities given to him, Kfir was accepted into the prestigious Ori Tzion military academy, where he thrived.

From a child struggling with self-doubt, Kfir transformed into an outstanding combat soldier, a mentor for at-risk youth, and a respected academic. He became the first in his family to pursue higher education, earning both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in criminology with honors. Today, Kfir is married to Shira and has come full circle, returning to Neve Michael six years ago. As Coordinating Director of the Children’s Group, he ensures that the next generation is equipped with essential life skills for a brighter future.
