“If you have a dream, go chase it.”
Leah Hodaya’s Dreams Become a Reality
Leah Hodaya Levi arrived at Neve Michael just before her 13th birthday, carrying the weight of loss and uncertainty. The youngest of thirteen siblings, she had already faced more hardship than most—losing her father at eight years old and experiencing the instability of a fractured home. When her mother relocated, Hodaya found herself in need of a safe haven.
At Neve Michael, she was welcomed with open arms, but trust did not come easily. With the unwavering support of her mentor, Rona Levi, and the dedicated staff, Hodaya slowly began to heal. What started as a place of refuge became the foundation of her transformation. Neve Michael not only gave her a home but restored her faith in people, teaching her resilience, self-worth, and the power of perseverance.
Determined to build a better future, Hodaya transitioned into independent living, completed two years of National Service working with children with special needs, and pursued further studies and a career. Today, Hodaya is 24 years old and thriving—balancing work, family, and dreams, guided by the mantra instilled in her at Neve Michael: “If you have a dream, go chase it.”
Hodaya’s journey is a testament to the life-changing impact of Neve Michael. It is more than just part of her past—it is the foundation of her success, proving that with love, support, and belief, even the most challenging beginnings can lead to triumph.

Kfir Sabag’s Full Circle Journey
Kfir Sabag arrived at Neve Michael at just nine years old, alongside his younger brother, following the passing of their father. Raised in a disadvantaged neighborhood, Kfir faced numerous challenges that made it difficult for him to believe in himself. But at Neve Michael, he found a second family. His mentors, Hadassah and Betzalel, became pivotal figures in his life—Betzalel, in particular, stepping in as a father figure with whom Kfir remains close to this day.
Under the dedicated care of Neve Michael’s staff, Kfir learned the values of resilience and independence. Ornit, another influential mentor, instilled in him the importance of self-sufficiency—a lesson that would shape his future. Determined to make the most of the opportunities given to him, Kfir was accepted into the prestigious Ori Tzion military academy, where he thrived.
From a child struggling with self-doubt, Kfir transformed into an outstanding combat soldier, a mentor for at-risk youth, and a respected academic. He became the first in his family to pursue higher education, earning both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in criminology with honors. Today, Kfir is married to Shira and has come full circle, returning to Neve Michael six years ago. As Coordinating Director of the Children’s Group, he ensures that the next generation is equipped with essential life skills for a brighter future.
For Kfir, Neve Michael is much more than a place from his past—it is his home, the foundation that turned challenges into triumph.
