Sulamot Music Program
Program Details:
Sulamot, the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra’s music therapy program, brings the transformative power of music to at-risk children at Neve Michael. Reaching over 53 elementary and 20 high school students, the program provides a unique opportunity for these children to learn, heal, and grow through music. With guidance from ten professional musicians, participants receive intensive musical training and gain the confidence to share their progress through live performances that inspire the entire community. More than just a music education initiative, Sulamot fosters emotional expression, resilience, and a sense of belonging for children who have faced significant challenges.
Running from September to June, the program offers weekly sessions every Thursday, engaging younger children in the mornings and high school students in the afternoons. Under the leadership of a professional conductor, participants explore various instruments such as the trumpet, drums, trombone, flute, saxophone, clarinet, and guitar. The program features three orchestras, including a special ensemble for exceptional young musicians, allowing children of all ages to connect and create together. Sulamot is more than just music—it is a pathway to hope, offering children a way to rise above adversity and build a brighter future, one note at a time.
