As part of Ella’s Bat Mitzvah, she has chosen to support the at-risk youth in Neve Michael’s Crisis Center at Neve Michael Children’s Village in Pardes Hanna, Israel.

As part of Ella’s Bat Mitzvah, she has chosen to support the at-risk youth in Neve Michael’s Crisis Center at Neve Michael Children’s Village in Pardes Hanna, Israel. Ella’s specific mission is to ensure that EVERY child that stays in Neve Michael’s Crisis Center will have enough clothing available to them upon their arrival and throughout their stay.
In Israel, the State has a 5000 Shekel ($1420) maximum annual clothing allowance for the entire center, which can clothe up to 50 children. That is less than $30 TOTAL per child, per year, for clothing. When Ella heard these numbers, she simply didn’t understand how it could possibly be that, in her own town, children didn’t have more than one shirt, a pair of pants and an old pair of shoes.
Ella’s heartfelt empathy and compassion left no question in her mind that she should champion this cause. Not only will she be thrilled by any donation made in her name, but she will also be donating 10% of any monetary gifts she receives for her Bat Mitzvah to Neve Michael. She hopes that others will be inspired to do the same.
