A volunteer group of Neve Michael youth leads various sports activities for mentally challenged young adults on Monday afternoons in Maon Ramim, Pardes Hana. This unique undertaking enables our children to act as givers by helping severely mentally challenged young adults enjoy the benefits of participating in healthy and vigorous outdoor activities.

Our sports groups went up a level as all the participating children are working on physical fitness according to their capabilities. Our therapists have all received training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), which helps patients suffering from personality disorders. DBT has considerable benefits for children at risk who suffer from behavioral problems caused by family dysfunction and childhood traumas.

With Pesach just weeks away, we would like to express our heartfelt thanks to our dear friends and supporters for bringing the joy of our festive holidays to the hearts of our children. The children and staff at Neve Michael mourn the passing of 101-year-old Jack Stromfeld, of blessed memory. Since 1990, Jack had one passion in life – Neve Michael. He established the "Sponsor a Child" program that benefited the lives of Neve Michael's children at risk. Tireless in his efforts to raise funds to help the children, he will truly be missed as the Godfather of Neve Michael.

Lecture about Addictions Neve Michael has added some new therapies: carpentry therapy, horse therapy, baking and cooking therapy, chocolate therapy and garden therapy.

Under the Carpentry Therapy Program, some of our boys built a bench for the sports field at Neve Michael. This dynamic carpentry workshop teaches our boys how to work with tools with the aim to fashion a work of art out of wood. The program offers vocational training and is gaining popularity, with around forty boys already participating and more joining all the time.

Neve Michael's onsite elementary school has expanded its already extensive special education program by adding a seventh grade. Our professional therapists teach our special children to overcome their cognitive disadvantages, enabling them to acquire learning skills and make progress in their education.

Neve Michael has organized a boys' soccer team that competes with other schools in the area. This rigorous program enables our children to interact within a group, compete with other children, learn about teamwork and sportsmanship and have a great time playing a great game. Our children’s enthusiasm for this program warms the hearts of the Neve Michael staff.

In June 2017, 30 of our children who participate in the exemplary Scales music program in conjunction with the Israeli Philharmonic Orchestra performed in front of the Knesset’s Welfare Committee.
