This unique undertaking enables our children to act as givers by helping severely mentally challenged young adults enjoy the benefits of participating in healthy and vigorous outdoor activities.

Our sports groups went up a level as all the participating children are working on physical fitness according to their capabilities. Our therapists have all received training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), which helps patients suffering from personality disorders. DBT has considerable benefits for children at risk who suffer from behavioral problems caused by family dysfunction and childhood traumas.

The children and staff at Neve Michael mourn the passing of 101-year-old Jack Stromfeld, of blessed memory. Since 1990, Jack had one passion in life – Neve Michael. He established the "Sponsor a Child" program that benefited the lives of Neve Michael's children at risk. Tireless in his efforts to raise funds to help the children, he will truly be missed as the Godfather of Neve Michael.

Carpentry Therapy Program

Carpentry Therapy Program

Under the Carpentry Therapy Program, some of our boys built a bench for the sports field at Neve Michael. This dynamic carpentry workshop teaches our boys how to work with tools with the aim to fashion a work of art out of wood. The program offers vocational training and is gaining popularity, with around forty boys already participating and more joining all the time.

In June 2017, 30 of our children who participate in the exemplary Scales music program in conjunction with the Israeli Philharmonic Orchestra performed in front of the Knesset’s Welfare Committee.
